How we check content

Parents ask where a story comes from and who has read it. This page answers both.

Every story names its source

Each story cites the text it comes from, such as the Valmiki Ramayana or the Bhagavata Purana, so a parent can find it.

A scholar signs it off

A Sanskrit or Puranic scholar reads every story, mantra, aarti and festival page before it goes out. Meet the scholars who review Pratham Pranam. More are joining as we grow.

Mantras and aartis

Mantras and aartis always appear in Devanagari with transliteration in Roman letters and the meaning in your child's language. The aartis are traditional and in the public domain, recorded afresh for the app.

For every tradition

The core library has Vaishnava, Shaiva and Shakta stories, and none of them is presented as the only right way.

Told for the child's age

  • Ages 2 to 5: short picture stories of one to three minutes, made to be heard.
  • Ages 6 to 8: full stories with read-along highlighting.
  • Ages 9 to 10: epics in episodes, and the meaning of each word in a mantra.

If you spot a mistake

Write to support@prathampranam.com and we will check it against the source.
