Effective date: 14 October 2026 · Version 1.1
1. About these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Meet Gupta, an individual based in India who runs the Pratham Pranam apps and website under that name ("Pratham Pranam", "we", "us"). Contact address: 402, Kempstone, Omaxe Hills 2, Faridabad, Haryana 121010, India. They govern your use of the Pratham Pranam mobile and tablet apps, our website prathampranam.com, and related content and services (together, the "Service").
Please read them with our Privacy Policy. By signing in, starting a trial, buying a subscription or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who these Terms are for
Pratham Pranam is made for children aged 2 to 10, but it is set up, paid for and controlled by adults.
- Account holders must be adults. To sign in, you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher). By signing in, you accept these Terms and confirm that you meet this age requirement. We do not check anyone's age or identity.
- Children do not have accounts. Children use the Service through personas that the account holder creates. Children do not sign in and do not agree to these Terms.
- You are responsible for use on your account, including by any child or other family member you let use it, and for supervising children while they use the Service.
- If we learn that a child has created an account, we will delete it.
In these Terms, "you" means the adult account holder.
3. The Service
Pratham Pranam offers illustrated and narrated stories, mantras, aartis, festival guides, short quizzes and keepsake collectibles drawn from Sanatan Dharma traditions, in Hindi and English, with more languages planned. Content is arranged by age band (2–5, 6–8 and 9–10) and by a "telling depth" the Parent chooses.
The Service is designed to be calm and ad-free:
- We do not show advertising to children, and we do not sell or rent personal data.
- Child screens have no chat, no social features, no external links and no in-app purchase prompts.
- Purchases, settings, sharing and the parent area sit behind a parent lock.
- Parents can set daily time limits and bedtime mode.
We may add, change or remove content and features over time. If we remove a feature that is a main part of a paid plan during your billing period, we will tell you in advance and, where the law requires, offer a pro-rata refund for the unused period.
4. Your account
- Signing in. You need to sign in to use the Service, with your email address and a one-time code we send to it. Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Security. Keep your login private. Tell us at support@prathampranam.com if you think someone has used your account without permission.
- One household. An account and its subscription are for your own household, on the number of personas and devices your plan allows. You may not resell, publicly share or commercially use an account.
- Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time from the parent area of the app.
5. Personas and the parent lock
Inside your account you create personas, one for each age band you want to use. A persona has only a name you choose, an age band, a language and a telling depth. Persona names are labels, not real names. Please do not use a child's real name, photo or any other detail that could identify a child.
The parent area, purchases, sharing and settings are protected by a parent lock: a simple question young children cannot easily answer, and, if you choose, your device passcode, Face ID or fingerprint, or a passcode you set in the app. Device unlocks are handled entirely by your phone or tablet; we never receive your biometric data. The parent lock helps keep young children away from settings and purchases, but it is not a security guarantee. Keep your device's own purchase protections switched on.
6. Plans, trials and payment
Some content is free. Full access needs a paid plan, such as the Family plan. Current plans, prices and what each includes are shown in the parent area before you buy.
- Where you buy. All purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, using the payment method on your store account. Apple or Google processes the payment; we never see your card, UPI or bank details. Purchases are also governed by that store's terms.
- Free trials. If we offer a trial, the store will show its length and the price after it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your paid plan starts and you are charged.
- Prices and taxes. Prices are set in your local currency by the store and include applicable taxes (such as GST in India or VAT in the EU and UK) unless the store shows otherwise.
- Offers. Festival offers and promo codes are subject to the terms shown with them and have no cash value.
7. Automatic renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. The store charges your payment method at each renewal and sends any renewal notices its rules require.
- How to cancel. On iPhone or iPad: Settings > your name > Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- Effect of cancelling. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Your account and personas stay available on the free tier unless you delete them.
- Price changes. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price increase applies to you. The store may also ask you to accept the new price, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
8. Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies, and you request them from the store: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google through Google Play's order history. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves, but we will support any reasonable request you make to the store.
Nothing in these Terms limits refund or withdrawal rights you have under consumer law where you live, including India's Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and EU and UK consumer law.
9. About our content
Our stories, mantras and aartis are retellings for young children, drawn from traditional sources such as the Ramayana, Mahabharata and Puranas. Where we can, we name the source a story is told from.
- Many traditions, one retelling. Sanatan Dharma has many regional and family versions of the same story. Ours is one respectful, age-appropriate telling. It is not a statement of religious doctrine and does not replace guidance from your family, guru or tradition.
- Age-appropriate choices. We simplify, shorten and soften some episodes, especially for younger age bands and the "Gentle" telling depth. Please preview content if you have particular sensitivities.
- Educational, not professional advice. Content is for learning and enjoyment. It is not medical, psychological or other professional advice.
- How content is made. Our content is written, illustrated, narrated and reviewed by people. We also use AI tools to help create some illustrations and audio; every item is reviewed by our team before release.
- Tell us. If you think something is inaccurate or disrespectful, write to support@prathampranam.com. We review every report.
10. Your licence to use the Service
While you follow these Terms and, for paid content, keep an active plan, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your household's private, non-commercial use. Offline downloads are for use inside the app only and stop working when your plan ends.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, record, download (outside the app's own offline feature), redistribute, broadcast, sell or publicly perform our content;
- use our content for classes, schools, temples, events or other group settings without a written licence from us (support@prathampranam.com);
- reverse engineer, decompile or interfere with the Service, its security or its parent lock;
- scrape the Service, or use our content to train or build any artificial intelligence or machine learning model;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, misleading, hateful or harmful, or to mock or misrepresent any religious tradition;
- create accounts by automated means or with false information.
12. Intellectual property
The Service and everything in it, including stories, illustrations, characters as we have drawn them, narration, music, recordings, the Pratham Pranam name, the Pranam Deep mark, our designs and our software, belong to us or our licensors. They are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Ancient texts themselves are in the public domain; our translations, retellings, artwork and recordings of them are our own works.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely without any obligation to you. Certificates and keepsakes you share from the parent area (for example on WhatsApp) remain our content; you may share them for personal, non-commercial purposes.
If you believe something in the Service infringes your rights, write to support@prathampranam.com with details. We respond to valid notices under India's Copyright Act, 1957 and IT Rules, the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act and similar laws.
13. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service running, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device. We may pause it for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. Some features need an internet connection and a supported operating system.
14. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not give warranties that are not set out in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. This does not affect warranties or guarantees that the law in your country says cannot be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill;
- our total liability to you for all claims about the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) INR 5,000 (or the equivalent in your local currency).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care, and the cap above does not apply where local law forbids it.
16. Indemnity
You agree to compensate us for reasonable losses and legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service, such as commercial use of our content. This clause does not apply to consumers in countries where such terms are not allowed.
17. Suspension and termination
- By you. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the parent area or by writing to support@prathampranam.com. Deleting the account does not cancel an app store subscription; cancel that in the store first.
- By us. We may suspend or close an account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- Refunds on termination. If we close your account without a breach by you, we will support your request to Apple or Google for a refund of the unused part of your plan.
- What survives. Sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes continue after termination.
18. Governing law and disputes
- Talk to us first. Most problems are solved quickly. Please write to support@prathampranam.com or our Grievance Officer before starting any formal claim, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the points below, the courts at Faridabad, Haryana, India have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Consumers outside India. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live if that law allows it. Choosing Indian law does not take those rights away.
- Small claims. Either of us may bring an individual claim in a small claims court or consumer forum that has jurisdiction.
19. App store terms
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service or its content, have no obligation to provide support, and are not liable for any claim about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You must also follow the store's own usage rules.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or the law changes. For material changes, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, the new Terms apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
21. General
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
- If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a company we set up to run the Service, or to anyone who takes it over, and your rights will not be reduced.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- These Terms may be offered in English, Hindi and other languages the app adds. If the versions differ, the English version applies, except where local law requires otherwise.
22. Grievance Officer and contact
In line with India's Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, complaints about the Service or your data go to our Grievance Officer:
